NHS Walk-in Centre (WIC) provides easy access to a range of treatment. Shares are managed by primary care trusts (PCTs). There are approximately 93 centers in England, dealing with minor illnesses and injuries.

These include:

  • infection and skin rash,
  • fractures and lacerations,
  • emergency contraception and advice
  • stomach,
  • cuts and bruises, and
  • burns and strains.

On 1 April 2006, the NHS introduced its reform of dental services, since it began in 1948.
These reforms aimed at improving access to NHS dental services and replace the old complicated system load with three simple, standard price bands.
Simplify load

There are now three standard charges for all NHS dental treatments. This makes it easier to know how much you must pay in May and ensures that you are charged for NHS care (rather than private care).
The maximum amount for a complex course of treatment was 198 pounds.
Most courses of treatment cost £ 16.50 or £ 45.60.

About NHS hospital services

The most effective way is to apply online. Your card will normally arrive within seven days. Some people may ask the EHIC by post, but this method would be longer. To use the phone, call 0845 606 2030th To register by mail, get a form from the post office. Send the completed form EHIC Applications, PO Box 1114, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE99 2TL. Major trauma means more severe injuries that death, or may lead to severe disability. These could include serious head injuries, severe gunshot wounds and traffic accidents.
